THRILL SEEKER APP FOR THEME PARK GOERS
Thrill Seeker, a new application for the iPhone and iPod touch which helps users to make the most of their theme park visits, has hit the app store today. The app gives access to detailed information on all of the rides, attractions and facilities within a theme park. What's more, thanks to the iPhone's built-in technologies, Thrill Seeker will display the rides, attractions & facilities nearby and even provide intelligent directions to them.

"Being regular theme park visitors, we know it's not uncommon to see people looking lost. Thrill Seeker can tell people what rides are around them, and direct them to the ones they want to check out."
Thrill Seeker isn't just about rides though, as Mark goes on to explain: "I used to work at Alton Towers and it's amazing how many people ask you where the nearest toilet or cash machine is. Maps aren't the best way of providing visitors with this information, we think Thrill Seeker is! The nearby screen will instantly show nearby toilets, cash machines, shops, restaurants, pay phones, first aid points and more - not just rides."
Thrill Seeker uses the built in GPS chip of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to determine a user's location, but the location based features can also be used on the original iPhone and iPod touches: "We wanted to make the location based features available on all devices, as that's one of the best features of the app. We achieved this by having a 'Manual Locations' mode which allows the user to select something they're close to as their position."
The app initially covers five theme park resorts: Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park and Walt Disney World, that's a total of eight theme parks with over 1,000 rides, attractions and facilities. However, the ambitions for Thrill Seeker are endless. "We designed Thrill Seeker from the beginning to accommodate infinite theme parks around the globe and we're working hard on adding new parks all of the time. What's great is if you download the app now, you'll be able to use all of the parks we add in the future free of charge!"
